About BAM
Bulgarian Аid Mission Foundation is an NGO founded by Stefan Stefanov and registered in 2010. Stefan and his wife Ann-Kristin Stefanov manage the activities of the Foundation together with a team of dedicated employees and with the help of many volunteers and supporters. The goals of the organization are to help poor and needy people in Bulgaria as well as to look for alternatives and to find solutions for overcoming poverty and dealing with its consequences.
In the years of economic crisis, through the activities of the foundation, people with diverse social status have received help, support and special attention.
Roma, children, the elderly, the sick, the unemployed and refugees are supported regularly and unconditionally.
Bulgarian Aid Mission Foundation has supplied and donated medical equipment for hospitals, furniture and computers for schools, clothes and shoes for the socially disadvantaged and for children growing up in institutions in various localities. Food is provided and delivered to the homeless, the elderly and widows, along with large families. Projects related to education, qualification, employment and integration have been developed and implemented. A number of sports clubs have been established to create conditions for the integration and socialization of children and youth of Roma origin in society, and in addition to stimulate their motivation for school and physical education. By providing pedagogical and social assistance togather with other incentives, Roma children are prevented from dropping out of the learning process at an early age and their higher education is stimulated. The organization of professional training courses for the unemployed was established and subsequently through the mediating role of the foundation the participants in the courses have found realization on the labor market in Bulgaria. Number Bulgarian churches have been supported in their various social projects and in their efforts to establish Christian values and norms in society.
The activities of Bulgarian Aid Mission Foundation are not funded by European funds and programs, but are implemented and maintained through the sponsorship and assistance of supporters and also through donations from churches, companies, charities and humanitarian organizations.
